Description
Modern Quantum Mechanics is a classic graduate level textbook, covering the main concepts from quantum mechanics in a clear, organized and engaging manner. The original author, J. J. Sakurai, was a renowned particle theorist. This third edition, revised by Jim Napolitano, introduces topics that extend its value into the twenty-first century, such as modern mathematical techniques for advanced quantum mechanical calculations, while at the same time retaining fundamental topics such as neutron interferometer experiments, Feynman path integrals, correlation measurements, and Bell’s inequalities. A solutions manual is available.
Paper has good quality! Same as content.
really hard to read due to high level of math to be essential
Pese a ser un libro avanzado, con un buen seguimiento es un excelente apoyo incluso para los primeros cursos formativos en cuántica.
Sakurai is a great book to lean a graduate-level quantum mechanics. As everyone knows, the book was not entirely written by Sakurai (only the first three chapters were completed), but completed by his friend and colleague Prof Tuan after Sakurai’s untimely death. The first edition and revised version are very good. It contains absolutely enough modern materials for a typical quantum mechanics class such as the quantum measurement, quantum correlations, Bell inequalities etc. In brief, the third edition (a strange new co-author is added) is totally unneeded and has not made the book better!
